Real Bride: A Boho Adventure in the Mountains

April 21, 2022

Happy Thursday! We recently caught up with our real bride, Caroline! Caroline met her husband, Spencer, through mutual friends during their freshman year of college! They started dating a few short years later and here they are today, tying the knot in beautiful Denver, Colorado. Their favorite memory together was the night he proposed: “Spencer surprised me with a cooking class at the same place where we’d taken one 2 years prior. We had the same chef, who remembered us, and she brought us champagne and made us feel really celebrated. It was a fun way to reminisce on our dating.”

Caroline’s Wedding

Caroline and Spencer became husband and wife at the Kirk of Highland Venue in Denver, Colorado! We asked Caroline to describe her big day for us: “Our wedding was warm, laid back, and full of big laughs and making out (lol). In terms of aesthetic, I wanted a casual boho feel, which my dress was perfect for. I wanted warmer, neutral, and pinky tones. I hoped that our friends and family would be at ease, have fun, and feel just as loved by us and we did by them.”

Caroline’s Dress

Caroline wore a unique, fitted gown with bell sleeves and a stunning train! We asked Caroline how she knew she found the perfect gown, “I thought it would be hard to choose my wedding gown I wanted because all the dresses I tried on were so gorgeous and unique. But, with Addie’s help, when I tried on my dress, my immediate thought was, ‘I never want to take this dress off.’ You just get this feeling where you can imagine your wedding day so much more clearly than you could before because you’ve found the dress that completes the vision.”

Advice from Our Real Bride

“My advice for future brides is to not worry too much about every little detail. People aren’t going to remember if the small details don’t work out the way you originally planned. Also, keep it simple and true to who you and your fiancé are! You want the day to reflect you and your relationship.”

Special Memories from Our Real Bride

“We did a foot washing during our ceremony, and it was a very sweet way to have a few minutes to ourselves in the middle of the ceremony. I’d highly recommend planning something like that into the ceremony. It’s a special way to break up the nerves you may be feeling from being in front of everyone and just focus on your partner.”
