Tell us about your wedding! When it was, where it was at, and who helped put it together.

My wedding was June 4th at my amazing church, Remnant Fellowship! Our church is a VERY different when it comes to weddings in that the whole church comes together, volunteering their time and talent to make it happen! There is a main wedding team, under the incredible direction of Gwen Shamblin and Elle Shamblin that Chris and I took our ideas to. From there we looked at pictures, discussed colors, season—every detail was beautifully thought through and prayed over. So much volunteer time was given to us it was over the top. Ultimately, God poured out the most amazing ideas through the leadership of the wedding team that far exceeded our original ideas. It was incredible!

We had over 800 guests at our wedding however, no outside vendors were needed because different teams of volunteers worked diligently together…carrying out all aspects of the wedding including decorating, flowers, cake, food, music, bridal assistants…even fireworks! The process is totally peaceful as dear friends all work together and the end result is beyond gorgeous.  You can see by the photos that it looks like a $150,000 wedding out of a magazine but, because of how the church works together, was accomplished for a fraction of the cost.  In the past few years, I’ve gotten to be involved in helping decorate for many of my friends’ weddings at our church so it was a super special experience to get to be in the shoes of the bride this time around! I was so amazed at how stress-free the whole process was and it was incredibly special to watch people that I know and love get to be involved in the wedding from start to finish! Every detail was totally taken care of and I never once felt overwhelmed by the process because the amazing people at our church made the whole process so easy to manage!

How did you pick your wedding gown?

I honestly prayed a lot about it! I really wanted to choose something classic, as that’s really my style and also something that Chris would love. Coming into Fabulous Frocks just felt right. I’m a naturally very frugal person and I love to get a “deal.” I also wanted something that was unique. Amy made my mom and I feel so at home in her beautiful boutique and after showing her a couple of the gowns that I liked, she immediately went to one that she thought might work!  It was so perfect and, again, a totally stress free process! I was so thankful for Amy’s expertise and also for her recommendation for tailoring! I felt so amazing in that dress and it was everything I dreamed–and the bonus was how the big, full skirt transformed to a different tailored look at the end of the night.  It was it was so fun to get to leave in a completely “different” beautiful dress!

What is your absolute favorite picture from the big day?

It’s so hard to choose! We have an incredible team of photographers at our church so I really I don’t know if I could choose just one picture! Some of the best photos are posted onhttp://remnantfellowshipweddings.com/radebaughbetancourt-wedding/  If you check it out you will see many amazing photos from not just our wedding but others as well (you’ll also see other dresses from Fabulous Frocks)! I love the picture of us looking at each other and I also love the picture of us making our way to the car at the end of the night with all of the sparklers, which was taken by Scott Sabo. But there are so many more that I could call “favorites” too!

Is there anything you wish you would have done differently?

I really don’t! Admittedly there were a few times that I was tempted to worry a bit, however, I am surrounded by so much love, guidance and wisdom…so all needs were met and every detail was well taken care of. God really blessed the process and it was all incredibly peaceful and fun.

Any advice for future brides?

My advice for future brides is not only to relax and enjoy the process—because at the end of the day, regardless of everything, you’re going to be walking out of the door with the love of your life getting to start forever together—but also to think beyond the wedding day to being fully prepared for married life!  We obviously live in a day and age where the marriage stats are pretty depressing.  I am so thankful for all of the successful marriages I am surrounded by at my church, as well as all of the godly counsel and resources made available to me.  There’s nothing more exciting and peaceful knowing that you are entering marriage on a foundation of strength, hope and true love that will withstand any of life’s hardships.  I am so grateful!
