Last August we had the honor of assisting Laurel in finding her dream wedding dress for her upcoming Spring wedding. We are absolutely delighted to share with you today the details of her beautiful ceremony!
Tell us about your wedding! When it was, where it was at, and who helped put it together.
We had a lovely spring wedding in May 2016. I am originally from Massachusetts and my husband is from Illinois. We wanted to get married near our home in Brentwood , Tennessee so we could show our families our town! Many of our friends and family members loved spending the weekend exploring Nashville for the first time.
Our ceremony was at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Brentwood and our reception was at the Franklin Marriott Cool Springs. Having our reception at a hotel made it easy for out-of-town family and friends find their way back to their hotel rooms at the end of the evening! Luckily, both sites offered help with planning and coordinating the wedding day. My husband and I met with a team at our church (on our very last pre-marriage instruction session) to discuss all of the details of the ceremony including the flowers, readings and music. Our church community was very supportive and many members of our church came together to make sure our wedding day ran smoothly! The Marriott also had excellent planning services and offered a variety options with food and beverages in their wedding packages.

How did you pick your wedding gown?
I found photos on Pinterest and bridal magazines that I loved. I knew I wanted an illusion neckline and with an A-line skirt. I made an appointment at Fabulous Frocks and found the perfect dress on a mannequin in the store window. It was the perfect size too- a match made in heaven! Amy Grooms was very helpful and made me feel comfortable throughout the process.
What is your favorite memory from the wedding day?
Dancing at the reception with my husband, family and friends!
Is there anything you wish you would have done differently?
Not a thing! Everything came together perfectly.
Any advice for future brides?
Talk to your church or religious leader about the resources they offer to help plan your wedding. I found my church to be extraordinarily helpful!
Congratulations Laurel, we are honored to have had a small part of your big day!
