Real Bride: An Intimate Summer Wedding!

November 13, 2020

Happy Friday, brides! We recently caught up with our real bride, Caroline, and her new husband, Evan, who had an intimate wedding surrounded by the people closest to them! Evan and Caroline met through mutual friends and had been to a handful of get togethers over the years. In the Summer of 2016, Evan asked her on a date where they walked to Westport from his new house! They ate, bar hopped, and talked all night! Caroline said that she immediately felt a strong connection with Evan and they became official quickly after their first date! Evan and Caroline moved in together in 2018 and were engaged in 2019! Although their wedding wasn’t what they had envisioned, their day turned out to be absolutely perfect!

Caroline’s Wedding:

Caroline and Evan tied the knot on July 18th, 2020 in their family’s backyard! We asked Caroline what her favorite memory was from her wedding day: “Oh gosh, this is hard because the whole day was so amazing! Walking back down the aisle after exchanging vows was so magical. We were surrounded by close family and friends, just about 15 people. I could feel everyone’s love and happiness for Evan and I.”

Caroline’s Dress:

Caroline wore the most stunning Zavana Bridal gown on her wedding day! Caroline’s A-line gown had unique floral appliques all throughout the bodice and skirt, which looked perfect with all the gorgeous floral she had incorporated throughout the wedding! Instead of a veil, Caroline chose beautiful tulle wings to wear with her dress!

We asked Caroline how she knew she found her dream dress, “I had been to a couple dress shops prior to coming to Fab Frocks. Everything I tried on earlier just didn’t feel right. The time and care that Angela took into helping me find my frock was incredibly personalized. I feel like they really got an idea for what I was after. I tried on a dress or two at Fab Frocks that looked like they were straight off my Pinterest page but they just didn’t feel right. Angela had one last dress for me to try, and it was PERFECT. Intricate lace, light for a July wedding, and a gorgeous neckline. I got teary eyed seeing myself in it for the first time. When you know, you know! I figured the tears were a good sign. I felt like a bride!”

Advice from a Real Bride:

“I never ever could have predicted having to plan a wedding during a pandemic, but we made it work! Our originally planned 200+ guest wedding quickly dwindled down to 15 people. We moved from a large venue to my in-laws back yard for the ceremony and reception. Although it wasn’t plan A B or C, it was absolutely perfect. What matters the most is getting to marry your best friend. Something that helped me stay grounded when things seemed overwhelming was that the wedding is just one day, our marriage is for a lifetime. The marriage is what really matters, the wedding is just the icing on the cake!”
