Who doesn’t love romantic, airy, and glamorous all in one? We caught up with real bride Morgan to discuss the ins-and-outs of her wedding day! Morgan and her husband, James, met 7 years ago at a bar in Philadelphia. They remained friends for a few months, but ultimately fell in love and got engaged! Morgan said: “We moved to Kansas City and began planning our wedding in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. We’re so happy to call Kansas City home as husband and wife!”
Morgan and James’ ceremony was held at the garden at Magnolia Venue and Urban Garden. The beautiful arbor they got married under was built by James’ father, David! After the ceremony, they then had cocktail hour with a prosecco truck from KC Prosecco. How fun! Morgan described the vision of her wedding as: “The vision/vibe of our wedding kind of evolved into this garden glam theme with muted sunset colors, and lots of romantic and floral details. James and I planned every detail of our wedding together, now looking back we are so grateful that our wedding day felt like “us”, and I think this is something our guests really noticed as well.”
We like to think Morgan’s dress was calling to her, literally! As Morgan was walking her dogs around the neighborhood, she stumbled across Fabulous Frocks and saw a beautiful beaded gown in the window… then the rest was history! “I thought, this is the dress I’ve been looking for! When I tried on the dress from the window I had the kind of experience I didn’t believe I would have. I just knew this was the dress I wanted to get married in!! I am (still) so obsessed with the floral beaded pattern, delicate straps, low back, and train! My veil and earrings I also purchased from Fabulous Frocks and they were absolutely perfect as well!” said Morgan.
Morgan wore a stunning fit-to-flare Zavana gown, filled head to toe with intricate floral beading, and beautiful beaded straps. We truly couldn’t take our eyes off of her in this dress!
Morgan and James incorporated KC into the heart of their wedding! The bridal party spent the morning of the wedding getting ready at Hotel Kansas City, then hopped on a Showtime Transportation Trolley to take photographs around Kansas City, including famous spots like Union Station and the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts! Morgan’s favorite memory of the day was: “The whole day was such a dream! One of my favorite moments was the first look we did on the rooftop of Hotel Kansas City before our ceremony. It was so romantic to have a few minutes alone together, and the view of the Kansas City skyline was awesome!”
Your wedding day is something you will look back on and cherish for the rest of your life! Morgan’s advice for future bride’s is: “It was important to us that we actually enjoyed our wedding. We ate, drank, danced, and laughed like it was the biggest party of our lives, and it totally was! We had so much fun getting our family and friends together safely and we had the best time! So I guess my advice would be: CELEBRATE!!!”
