Real Bride: Kylie’s Spring Wedding

July 25, 2024

We love catching up with our brides and love to hear all about the wedding day! Today we share the details of Fab Frocks Bride Kylie’s stunning spring wedding!

The Details

“Our wedding day was beautiful and stress free!” the bride exclaimed. Kylie’s wedding took place at Grace Valley Farm in Shelbyville, TN.

“It’s a rustic barn style venue,” Kylie said. “We had the venue the entire day, along with their getting ready areas for both the men and women.”

The bride shared that the team at Grace Valley Farms decorated the venue exactly how she asked. “It was simple and rustic,” she said. “I like to call it country chic!”

The couple’s wedding colors were maroon and navy, “which went perfectly with the brown rustic feel the venue naturally gave,” said the bride.

The Vendors

Jena Peeples of The Peeples Events was the wedding coordinator for Kylie’s spring wedding.

“Jena was an absolute dream, I can’t imagine the day without her,” Kylie gushed. “As a very Type A and organized bride, Jena was always on the same page as me. We stayed ahead of the game the entire time, which allowed me to have an easy and stress free day.”

Danielle Jordan Photography photographed the day.

“As a redhead with very fair skin, I have always found it hard to find a photographer that edits my completion well,” Kylie explained. “I loved a bright and natural look. When I saw her Instagram, I knew Danielle was the perfect person to give me this look.”

Kylie shared that Danielle was kind and communicative. Additionally, she listened to all of Kylie’s desires for capturing the day. “She also edited our pictures perfectly, making them natural and light! So stunning!”

Something Styled provided the florals for Kylie’s spring wedding. Kylie shared that she didn’t feel strongly about having plentiful floral arrangements. With that in mind, “Sarah at Something Styled understood this and still delivered absolutely stunning arrangements,” Kylie said.

The florist mixed dark maroons and light pinks in the arrangements to bring out both the colors of the wedding. “I am still thinking about the gorgeous arrangements to this day!” said the bride.

Harper & Olive Salon provided the hair and makeup services for the wedding day.

“Mandy and Kate absolutely killed my look!” Kylie exclaimed. “I did a natural look for my make up with a slight sparkle on my eyelids and a nude lip. My hair was Hollywood waves but with a tighter feel. It was stunning!”

The bride described the spring wedding as stunning, rustic, and simple.

The Dress

Kylie came to the boutique in the fall of 2023 with family and friends. She found us through Instagram!

“I knew that an A-Line dress would likely look the best on my small yet curvy body type,” she said, “so I started there and loved the shape.”

The bride knew she wanted something with long sleeves, and something that was different and “not as traditional.”

She discovered that she didn’t love the simplistic and sleek look of clean and classic dresses. Rather, embellishment and detail caught Kylie’s eye.

“I’m so glad I found Fabulous Frocks,” Kylie said. “I went to one salon before them and honestly left discouraged and scared that I would not like anything I put on. Once I arrived at Fabulous Frocks, I was comfortable and they made it so fun.”

Kylie tried a variety of A-lines at the boutique, and fell in love with the third one she put on. The beaded lace A-line from Lillian West featured a sweetheart neckline, pops of 3D lace, and dainty off the shoulder straps.

Nothing else compared, so Kylie got back in the dress at the end of the appointment. She paired the gown with a horsehair trimmed veil from Sara Gabriel and said yes to the ensemble!

Since Kylie wanted sleeves on her dress, she and her consultants discussed having a sleeve added in alterations. That’s exactly what she did! Her seamstress took lace from the hem of the dress to create off the shoulder sleeves that perfectly matched the gown!

“They truly took the time to listen to my vision and ask about my fiancé and how we met,” Kylie said of the Fab Frocks team. “The entire process was fun! I wish I could do it all over with them. They truly know their stuff!”

Advice to Brides

Kylie advises brides-to-be to be organized and decisive. “Through the entire process, being decisive helped with stress and anxiety,” she said. “Because I had a clear vision for my day and was organized at every step, it allowed for me to truly enjoy the planning process, and most importantly, the day of!”

The Reception

Salty Crew Catering catered the meal for Kylie’s spring wedding.

“The food was amazing and was fun southern food,” Kylie shared. The meal consisted of bourbon chicken, brisket, mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, street corn, and fresh homemade bread!

“The entire catering team was kind and made everything perfect!”

Meanwhile, Lucky Shadow Shop provided the signage for the day.

“Alyssa made stunning custom signage for our wedding day,” said Kylie. “I had a certain style and image in mind, and Alyssa absolutely killed it.”

Kylie continued by sharing that the process with Alyssa was easy. “She sent mock ups before finalizing the details,” she said. Alyssa wrote all of the stunning signage by hand!

The bride shared that her favorite part of the wedding was “a small but important one.” Upon entering their reception, Kylie and Mitch sat at the head table and looked out into the room full of guests.

“We looked out into the reception space to all our favorite and closest people all in one room,” she recalled. “It was such a small yet significant moment, a moment we will likely never get again.”

The couple traveled to St. Ann, Jamaica for their honeymoon!

“It was a beautiful place with clear beaches,” said the bride. “The local people were kind and fun to be around when we ventured out to do our excursions.”

The couple went horseback riding on the beach, hiked up Dunns River Falls, and zip lined! “It was a beautiful week spent together!”

We were honored to be a part of Kylie’s spring wedding! Congratulations to the happy couple!
