Happy Tuesday! We recently caught up with our real bride, Mary! Mary met the man of her dreams on an online dating site and she said that “his honesty and authenticity was apparent right away and that is what initially attracted me to him.” Read more about their perfect day below!
We asked Mary to describer her big day for us: “Joe and I wanted to feel like ourselves – we wanted the day to feel intimate and romantic and adventurous! Joe and I always knew we wanted to write our own vows and recite them privately. We also always knew we wanted to hike a beautiful trail in the mountains because it represents us as a couple. Hiking and camping in the mountains has always been one of our greatest ways we connect to each other.”
Mary wore a beautiful, fully lace fit to flare gown designed by Theia Couture! We asked Mary how she knew she found the perfect gown: “I tried on probably 100 dresses and I knew my dress from Fabulous Frocks was the one as soon as I put it on because I felt like ME in it. Just me. Not me trying to be fashionable or me trying to look like images I saw on my Pinterest board, but just me being honest and true to myself. I also felt really comfortable which was important considering I’d be hiking in my dress!”
We asked Mary to share any special details from her and Joe’s wedding: “We found an independent flower farmer who had never really done weddings before. Since we are from Nebraska, our only communication leading up to our wedding day was over the phone talking with Jade. After thousands of miles of travel, pulling up to her farm the day before the wedding with really no expectations and meeting her for the first time was so amazing. I spotted the most gorgeous wildflowers that looked like they were just picked, gathered into a bouquet in a tin can from a distance, and I just gasped when I realized that was my bridal bouquet. Jade exceeded my expectations and that bouquet was so special. We even have it displayed in our home.”
“Soak in all the bridal glory! Do what makes you and your spouse feel good in terms of your vision for the day. Follow your heart and wear what makes you feel comfortable and confident!”
“My husband and I hiked up to an incredibly beautiful area in the Cascades in Washington. The entire day was beautiful, but my favorite memory was toward the end of the hike, when my husband took out my long braid, gently removing each pin one at a time, and then ran his hands through my hair and we just embraced and exhaled. We were just us. Totally immersed in the moment and taking in not only the incredible scenery, but the fact that we had just become husband and wife and how much peace that brought to me.”
