Hi Brides! We are absolutely pumped to share the details of our sweet Fab Frocks Bride Caroline’s beautiful March wedding!

The Details

The couple was married at The Barn on Smith Lake near Cullman, Alabama. Caroline shared that the venue fit the couple’s vibe perfectly.

“We both love the outdoors, so choosing Smith Lake for the wedding was a no-brainer for us,” she said. “We both wanted a low-key outdoor ceremony with some good southern comfort food, which is exactly what we got!”

The wedding took place in early March on a beautiful day. “It felt like springtime in the middle of the winter!” Caroline expressed.

Allison Hilyer Photography from Montgomery, AL captured the day. A Sanderson Production filmed the March wedding. Meanwhile, Flowers by Amanda provided florals. “Our whole team came together to make the perfect day!”

Caroline described the March wedding as low-key, intimate, and fun!

The Appointment

Caroline came to the boutique in October with her sister. “I couldn’t have had a better experience at Fabulous Frocks!” Caroline expressed. “From the moment we walked in, Rachel and Megan made the whole process so easy and fun. They listened to everything I said, asked questions to help me flesh out what I was looking for and kept us laughing while we tried on dresses.”

She hadn’t tried on gowns and was open minded to different styles. “I knew I wanted something unique, but classy and timeless,” she explained. “Originally, I envisioned something more form fitted, but those didn’t feel right once I tried them on.”

With that in mind, Caroline’s consultants pivoted and pulled gowns with fuller skirts for the bride to try. One of the gowns that they pulled was a mikado A-line by Dany Tabet.

The Dress

“Rachel and Megan pulled this one for me, and I didn’t want to take it off!” Caroline said. The strapless gown featured a structured bodice, a flattering empire waistline, and a pleated skirt. Completing the dress were a slit and a bow!

“I loved the unique top and the fullness of the bottom… and of course the bow!” Caroline continued. “It fit me perfectly and only required minimal alterations. I think it was meant to be.”

Caroline said yes to the dress! Her mom was not able to attend the appointment, so she returned to the boutique later in the day with her mom and sister for a reveal appointment. That way, her mom got to be a part of the boutique experience, and help her choose her veil!

“Rachel and Megan went above and beyond to even re-create the experience for my Mom, who wasn’t able to be there at the original appointment, even staying after close so she could share in the day,” the bride continued. “They were the best part of the entire process, and everyone needs a Rachel and Megan.”

When thinking of advice to give to future brides, Caroline said, “Do yourself a favor – go see Rachel and Megan 🙂 Easiest part of the whole wedding.”

Caroline wore Satine by Dany Tabet. She paired it with our cathedral length pearl and crystal veil.

The Wedding

The wedding reception was next door in the Glass Barn on the venue’s property. This gave the couple and guests the perfect sunset view for dinner!

Edgar’s Bakery of Birmingham provided dessert at the March wedding. Additionally, Flowers by Amanda created tree-like centerpieces to give the reception the outdoorsy feel that the couple desired.

Caroline shared that her favorite part of the day was the couple’s first dance. “We opted to do it privately at sunset on the dock, while the guests started dinner,” the bride said. “It gave us time before the reception to soak everything in and enjoy a quiet moment with each other. Our dog was even waiting for us there! Easily my favorite part of the whole day.”

The couple honeymooned in Hawaii! “We went to The Fairmont Orchid in Hawaii and explored, hiked, snorkeled, ate endless pineapple and (somewhat) surfed!” Caroline said. “We came home exhausted and far too sunburnt but it was the perfect week!”
