Real Bride: A Magical Outdoor Wedding

February 10, 2022

Judy and Michael’s Special Day

Happy Thursday! We recently caught up with our real bride, Judy! Judy and Michael were married on a Fall afternoon with a magical outdoor setting complete with beautiful gardens, a sweet farmhouse to stay in, and seasonal, farm-to-table foods. And did we mention the free-range chickens? The happy couple met on eHarmony and they believe it was a true miracle that they were brought together!

We asked Judy to describer her big day for us: “Our primary goal was to share our faith and values with our guests. Michael and I were both widowed after long, happy marriages. We knew it was a miracle that God brought us together and hoped to help others understand how powerfully God works in lives. We titled our attendants as ‘Good Friends’ rather than bridesmaids and groomsmen – all were friends to both of us. There was an overall theme of ‘Better Place’ reflected in our invitations, music, program and even inscriptions of our wedding rings. The vibe was easy and informal. Everyone had a blast!”

Judy’s Dress

Judy wore a stunning, off the shoulder ballgown designed by Jasmine Bridal! We asked Judy how she knew she found the perfect gown, “It was the way I felt. When the Fab Frocks girls asked for three words to describe how I hoped to feel on our wedding day, I said ‘beautiful, elegant, and joyous’. Their team certainly helped me achieve that goal! And, when I saw tears streaming down my best friend’s face.”

Advice from Our Real Bride

“Relex. Enjoy the process – every little bit! Remember, in the end, it’s a day for you and the one you love. You don’t have to impress anyone or have everything be ‘perfect’. Make mental snapshots through the day, and use all your senses to remember the sights, sounds, fragrances, tastes, and touches of this day that marks the start of a new beginning for you and your groom.”

Special Memories from Our Real Bride

“So many! My sweet friends helping me into my gown, my groom’s 5-year-old granddaughter coming into my dressing room and saying, “You look like a princess!” and, the look on my groom’s face at ‘first look’.

We also wanted to honor our past and future. We included mementos from our late spouses to pay tribute to them and included both our pastors in the ceremony. Michael also wore his father’s pocket watch.”
