Real Bride: A Romantic and Rustic Wedding!

May 14, 2021

Happy Friday, brides! We are SO excited to share this beautiful fall wedding with everyone! Our real bride, Natalie, tied the knot with her new husband, Jordan, this past October! Natalie and Jordan have a lifetime of memories to make together, but Natalie shared her favorite memory so far with us.

“On a normal Sunday afternoon, Jordan asked for my help finding one of  his dad’s tools that he had “lost off his work truck”. We drove out to his family’s farm and began looking for the tool. Jordan mentioned that he saw a bow target a few yards down that someone must have left out. He decided that since he had our bows in the back of the vehicle, that we should take the opportunity to shoot for a while. I agreed, but was still concerned about finding the tool!

Jordan asked me if I would go figure out what was in front of the target and move it out of the way before we began shooting. I agreed to this task and started toward the target. While walking, I noticed a log with beautiful wild flowers on top placed in front of the target and two arrows crossed. Jordan mentioned that he noticed that one of the arrows was his, but he didn’t know what the other one was. Upon closer inspection, I found a blue arrow that had been designed by Jordan. This arrow had the four words I had been waiting to hear for 717 days, “Will You Marry Me?” With excitement and shock, I turned around to find Jordan down on one knee with a gorgeous ring in hand!…..and of course, I said, ‘YES!’”

Natalie’s Wedding

On October 24th, 2020 Natalie and Jordan were married at Matthew Century Farm! Their rustic and romantic wedding captured their love for each other perfectly! There are so many little touches that made their day turn out to be the wedding of their dreams!

“There are so many perfect moments that made our wedding day so special. My favorite moment was when I walked down the aisle to meet my favorite person in the whole world, my husband. The pianist and violinist began playing 1000 years by Christina Perry and the doors opened for my dad and I to walk down the aisle. At that moment, my soon-to-be husband turned around to see me for the first time. Jordan’s eyes were watery and he had the biggest smile on his face that only grew the closer I got to him. Seeing his emotions overwhelm him made my heart melt and I just couldn’t wait to kiss him and be pronounced Mr. and Mrs. Miller.”

Natalie’s Dress

Natalie wore a breathtaking Cizzy bridal gown for her autumn wedding! Natalie’s flowy aline gown has a beautiful, unique lace that is covered in sparkle! The elegant off the shoulder sleeves and buttons down the zipper were the perfect finishing touches!

We asked Natalie how she knew she found her dream dress: “I always wanted to feel like a princess on my wedding day but thought that the only way I would achieve that look would be with a big puffy ball gown. I also really liked the off the shoulder look, so I pointed out a few similar dresses. My awesome bridal consultant, Angela, also brought back a few that she thought I should give a try. I was pretty hesitant as these dresses were slightly different than I had imagined for myself. However, I am so thankful that she pulled these dresses because one of them ended up being my “fairytale gown”.

I knew that it was my dress because I got really emotional and saw myself as a true bride. I also felt so comfortable and confident in the dress and literally loved everything about the dress. As a woman, it is often easy to pick apart our outfits and convince ourselves that a certain body part does not look as good as it could and therefore lose confidence in the outfit, but I did not have that reaction with this dress. My dress made me feel like a princess and all my insecurities were suddenly gone.”

Advice from Our Real Bride

“My advice to you is to enjoy every moment. I know that seems cliche but in a blink of an eye it will be over. Take your time and enjoy the little things…planning (yes, even the stressful moments), your bridal shower and bachelorette party, picking out and taking care of all of the little details of your big day with your honey, etc. When your big day arrives, it will be the best and most rewarding day to see all of your hard work in fruition and get to FINALLY marry your best friend. Also, don’t forget to take some time on your big day, with just you and your new spouse. The day is crazy, awesome, and a little hectic so this special downtime is the perfect way to take a breath and enjoy the moment.”

Special Memories from Our Real Bride

“My “something old, borrowed, and blue” item was my great grandma Sarah’s handkerchief. My mom carried it around her bouquet at my parent’s wedding as well. I will, hopefully, pass it down to my daughter as well to be her “something old, borrowed, and blue” item.”

“We also took a different approach to the unity ceremony and did a unity tree planting instead. We had our parents pour a jar of dirt from each of our childhood homes to represent our roots and the foundation our parents have given us and then we watered the sapling together to show that love takes constant work and nutriment to help it grow. After the wedding, we planted the tree in our backyard to be a constant reminder of our ever growing love for each other.”
