Real Bride: Autumn’s Intimate December Wedding

March 7, 2024

Hi Brides! Today we are reflecting on another Fab Frocks Bride’s wedding! We’re so excited to share the details of Autumn’s intimate December wedding!

The Details

Autumn and her husband, John, were married in late December of 2023 at Scarritt Bennett Center in Nashville.

“My husband and I are both introverted, and we knew early on that we were not the type that would thrive having a big wedding day,” Autumn shared. Therefore, the couple planned a micro-wedding with 25 family members.

“I had the details I wanted while ditching the aspects of a wedding that we didn’t want to have,” she continued. The couple booked the wedding with Elopements, Inc. The company specializes in small elopements in a ceremony fashion. “They were absolutely spectacular throughout the whole process, and have an amazing photography team!” Autumn said.

Meanwhile, Cali Jeffries did Autumn’s hair and makeup for the wedding day.

Autumn described the intimate December wedding as blissful, beautiful, and serene.

The Dress

Autumn came to Fabulous Frocks in July of 2023 with her mom. She knew she wanted a wedding dress with sleeves for the December wedding. Additionally, she was hoping for a gown with unique detail. She wanted lace to be incorporated in the gown, and was envisioning something form fitting yet comfortable.

“One of the highlights of the entire planning process was picking the dress! That is all thanks to Fabulous Frocks, but specifically the manager, Rachel,” said Autumn.

Autumn also shared that she was unsure of how to go about dress shopping. “I didn’t know how many appointments to make or how long it would take, which is why I was pleased to stumble upon Fabulous Frocks,” she said. She loved our off the rack concept, and ended up only scheduling an appointment at our boutique, hoping she would find it with us!

The Bridal Appointment

Autumn worked with Rachel, and the two bonded as they went to the same college and had a lot of mutual friends!

“Rachel walked me through the entire process like a big sister,” she continued. “She had many different dresses pulled to help me see all the intricacies that tie into wedding dresses. I found it so much fun trying on all the dresses!”

Autumn shared that she found dress shopping fun and easy. “Thanks to Rachel, it wasn’t overwhelming or stressful in any way,” she said. “She had great patience as we went through each dress, and she found the perfect one for me.”

Autumn tried a variety of styles and narrowed her choices as she went. Initially, she was trying more sleek gowns, but throughout the appointment, she realized she wanted a little bit more detail. With that in mind, Rachel pulled a Pronovias gown that combined everything that Autumn was looking for: a lace bodice, long sleeves, and a crepe skirt. “I was in love the moment I slipped it on. It felt like the dress was made for me,” Autumn recalled.

Autumn’s eyes lit up as soon as she put the gown on. She tried on a few other styles to confirm that this was the dress, and then revisited. Once she was back in the favorite, she began to cry. She paired the gown with a cathedral veil featuring pearls and crystals and said yes to the dress!

Autumn wore Yushan by Pronovias. She paired the gown with the pearl and crystal veil for her intimate December wedding.

Advice for Brides to Be

When reflecting on advice for future brides, Autumn advised brides to be to remember the reason behind getting married.

“I tried to keep my focus on the dream come true that was occurring right before my eyes,” she said. “That dream was finding the love of my life and getting to marry him!”

She continued by sharing that the wedding day goes so quickly and to embrace it. “Even if a detail goes wrong, just remember that the details are not going to affect your happily ever after.”

Favorite Details of the Day

Autumn’s favorite part of the intimate December wedding was walking down the aisle and seeing her husband for the first time that day.

“We didn’t think we were going to be able to avoid each other beforehand, since we were technically doing an elopement,” she explained, “but it ended up working out where we didn’t have to see each other until that moment. It was such a sacred moment between the two of us, and it was so fun to have our reactions to each other saved to happen at the aisle.”

The couple honeymooned in Kauai, Hawaii! “It is my favorite place I have ever been to in my life,” she shared. “It was absolutely stunning, and incredibly peaceful!”

We loved being a part of Autumn and John’s special day! Congratulations to the happy couple!
